Kalv is populated by around 380 people and is situated in Västra Götaland, just on the border to both Småland and Halland, about 80 km from Gothenburg. Once upon a time Kalv marked the border to Denmark and was therefore part of the vital roads connecting Sweden to the continent.
Kalv has a beautiful nature with open agricultural landscapes, lakes and with thick varied, forests to bogs. As such it is highly suited for outdoor living and you will find abundance of possibilities for camping life.
The people of Kalv are by tradition open for new impressions. Common solutions and cooperation are a natural part of the society. The so-called “Byalaget” (a gathering of locals) is an active forum for the inhabitants. Kalv has been chosen as one of fourteen sustainable areas in a project led by the ministry of Agriculture and the Swedish agriculture University.
